Zion National Park, Utah
I've neglected you, dear readers. I apologize for leaving you without a post for the entire month of July. I had some visitors from out of the country staying with me and, needless to say, we had a blast, but it did take up quite a bit of blogging time. I also went on vacation to Southern Utah, "The Hottest Snow on Earth." (I can't believe they choose THAT as their motto. It almost doesn't make sense.)

In other news, today is my ten-year high school reunion. (Go Cardinals!) I can't really complain about high school, after all I was a Student Body Officer and Homecoming Queen and Captain of the dance team. At the time, I never considered myself popular, but when you look at titles like those, it makes it seem like I was. I like to think that I was nice in high school, but from watching Veronica Mars, we all know that you can't be both. I was also voted biggest heart-breaker by the rest of the graduating class, so maybe I wasn't so nice to the boys.

Even then, though, I believed in an adulterated form of Karma. You know, what goes around comes around. I decided that if I was nice to others, I could stack the deck and make good things happen to me. Now, however, I do good things because I believe I am a good person, not because I want good things to happen to me. The difference seems slight, but I think it is the biggest difference in the world. Does that mean that when people walk by I don't mentally note how ugly their gladiator sandals are? No, it does not. I am very far from perfect. But if it came down to a choice between perfect and good, I would choose good every time.
