April Two Party Update

Thank you friends and family for coming to celebrate with us on April Two! I just wanted to give those who couldn't attend a recap of the night's festivities, in the hopes that next April Two you'll be able to attend! We kicked the night off right with a performance by Kole Christensen. Kole rocked the house and gave an amazing performance. She sang two of my favorites: "That's Why I Hate You" and "Here's to You," which has a pretty provocative refrain. To listen to those songs and more great music, go to kolemusic.com and click Music. The video below "Let's Fly" isn't from April Two, but I think it has better acoustics so Kole's vocal talent and songwriting skills really shine.
(And, not to go on and on like I have a girl crush, but Kole is probably one of the most beautiful people I've met, it's no wonder that she was Miss Teen Utah a few years ago.)
Heather Nan Parkinson of Heather Nan Photography took some fun-filled pics of party goers with Sad Clown. She also took the picture of JD, Melinda and I at the top of this page with the promise of even more great pics to follow.
To view your picture with Sad Clown and the rest of the April Two photos, go to Heather Nan Photography, click the Clients link and enter the password apriltwo.
Four lucky party goers tried their hand (blindfolded) at our Pin the Horn on the Unicorn game. The unicorn inspired by Charlie the Unicorn made famous from this YouTube video.
"Charlie? Charlie? Wake up you silly sleepyhead!"

Many of you entered our April Two raffle for some pretty fabulous prizes. We gave away a Mustache of the Day kit, Handerpants (underwear for your hands), a Ferrari (Hot Wheels edition), Mini Etch-a-Sketches (which Melinda helpfully pointed out could also be used as coasters), three pairs of tickets to some awesome shows including Spoon (love them) and an iPod nano. All for a dollar a chance was a pretty great deal! It turned out that the people who bought the most chances, really did win.
We definitely had a wonderful time and together, because of your contributions, we raised... *drum roll please* ... $613 for Charity:Water just last night! If you add that to the totals from the mycharitywater.org/apriltwo site ($1245 + $75 in employer matching) we raised $1933, blasting past our goal of $1500!
$1933 can give 96 people clean water for 20 years. Water will change everything or these people. Disease will dramatically be reduced. Children will be able to go to school and get an education. Men and women will be able to dedicate more time to their jobs, increasing productivity and lowering the poverty level.
But it's not over yet. I went ahead and raised the goal to $2000. If you didn't have the chance to donate, please donate now at mycharitywater.org/apriltwo. We'll only have the page up for one more week, so please don't miss your chance to help others.
Until next year. Wait! There's a next year? Well ... maybe ;)
THANK YOU!
