It's a Major Award!

My current feelings can be summed up by the character Mr. Parker in the holiday classic, A Christmas Story:
Mr. Parker: It's a Major Award!
Swede: Shucks, I wouldn't know that. It looks like a lamp.
Mr. Parker: What is a lamp, you nincompoop? It's a Major Award. I won it!
Swede: Damn, hell, you say won it?
Mr. Parker: Yeah, mind power, Swede; mind power.
From Kimberly Pauley, webmistress of the site Young Adult Book Central:
Okay, remember that contest I had for a new YABC logo? Well, we've chosen one...and the winner is...

That's right, friends, I won a box of books! I created this logo with simplicity in mind (think Apple). I chose bright colors that could be used or were already being used in other parts of the YABC Web site, thinking this would increase the ability to tie the logo in with other design features of the site. I also chose to keep the design portion from intersecting with the wording, so the two pieces could be used separately if space limitations became an issue for branding other pieces or if Kimberly was so inclined.
Kimberly told me she and her husband chose the design together, so a big thanks to them both! In addition to running the YABC Web site and blog, Kimberly Pauley is also the author of Sucks to be Me: The All-True Confessions of Mina Hamilton, Teen Vampire (maybe), so check it out and support YA Lit.
